Monetize Everything

To what extent are we missing the bigger picture by focusing on monetizing everything. This image reminds me of two things.

• Ghostbusters: we discover the afterlife. Instead of seeking to understand it more, we decide to form a business exterminating it. The government meddles in private enterprises entrepreneurial spirit by trying to regulate safety.

• Homer the Chriopractor: Homer discovers that falling on a garbage can heals him of his back problems. He decides to start a business, charging friends to fix their ailments with his garbage chiropractor service. Instead of simply helping his friends he monetizes them.

Put differently:

• Don’t explore the unknown, monetize it.

• Don’t help friends, monetize them.
